The first day of Spring has arrived on the Amalfi Coast, but not in the much hoped for sunny way. It arrived in the form of a nasty, cold and just plain miserable rain and windstorm! The sunny morning I woke up to quickly disappeared when the north winds started blowing cold air down the mountains. I hope winter will soon make way for la primavera! In the meantime, head over to South of Rome where Karen has compiled a wonderful round-up called Bloggers South of Rome Welcome Spring. It is a great post linking to springtime thoughts written by bloggers all over southern Italy and Sicily. What a wonderful way to spend the first day of la primavera! Grazie Karen for including Ciao Amalfi!
Buona primavera!

Hang in there the best is yet to come!
Pretty color on that flower!

We had wild winds here, too. We went into Basilicata for a half-day and encountered snow!

Ciao Chuck! Grazie! I took that photo all they way down at the tip of the Amalfi Coast at least a month ago it seems. Spring has been teasing us!
Ciao Valerie! I can’t believe you found snow in Basilicata! We woke up to snow on the tops of the mountains here on the Amalfi Coast, but it was too windy to snow where we live. It was cold enough to though!
