Remember awhile back when I posted photos of the Love Locks in Salerno? A couple of weeks ago while we were taking in the stunning views from the top of Monte Faito, I found these few locks all on their own. It made me smile to look at this symbol of love and to think of the couple looking out at this romantic view of Mt. Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples. Yes, I am certainly a romantic at heart!

When I was living in Napoli several years ago, I remember walking along the Via Caracciolo seaside promenade and seeing a column entirely covered in locks. I didn't know thier meaning at the time, but the image struck me as incredibly romantic.
Now locks wrap vistually every corner of my city, and I've learned their sweet meaning. It's fun to find them in remote places with a stunning view. It makes you imagine the kissing that took place there! Tee hee…
Ciao

Very romantic.

Hope not too many locks are put up there, like they were on the bridge in Rome. Looks like that mesh screen could eventually fall over – and that's pretty high up! Nevertheless, I do like the romantic bit. 🙂

Ciao Anne! I was exploring a hill for the perfect photo when I spotted those. It was a fun discovery! 🙂
Ciao Lola! My reaction was just like yours when I first saw them in Salerno. I also didn't know the meaning, but I thought it was so romantic. I hear there are lots in Rome, and I will have my camera ready next time I visit. It was fun to find these in such a cool location. So glad you're back to the blogging world. Missed you! 🙂
Ciao Chuck! It is a sweet symbol of togetherness. And what a view!
Ciao Pat! This couple couldn't have picked a more impressive spot to place their romantic symbol.
Ciao Italofile! Thanks for stopping by! These were the only locks up there, which is what made it seem particularly romantic. It would be quite a tumble down! 🙂
