Last week I took the jet from Amalfi to Sorrento for the first time. Boarding the boat at 5pm, we chased toward the setting sun along the Amalfi Coast before passing the tip at Punta Campanella. Capri in the evening sunshine is glorious. But the jet resisted its allure and stayed on course to Sorrento where the sun was still shining. It was wonderful to see the Sorrento coastline from the sea and arrive into the port of Marina Piccola. While waiting for the minibus up to the center of Sorrento, the view of Mt. Vesuvius faintly in the distance drew me back toward the sea. Everything was blue—even the slope of Vesuvius had a deep hue—and so very calm.
Last Friday, Linda from News from Italy left a nice comment introducing me to her Foto Friday feature, which had a blue theme last week. Stop by her blog today to see what she has for this week. Wishing all of my readers a peaceful weekend!
Happy Friday!
