It’s been a beautiful autumn on the Amalfi Coast. As I look out the windows at the bright blue sky and the autumn colors dotting the mountainsides in shades of reds, yellows and oranges, I’m inspired to share some photos I took in October at the Villa Cimbrone in Ravello. While the weather can be unpredictable this time of year, when the sun comes out it is glorious. And, even better, you have sights like the gardens at the Villa Cimbrone almost to yourself to explore. I invite you to come along and enjoy the autumn colors and views on the Amalfi Coast!
Happy autumn!

Very lovely photos. The palm tree trimming is amusing. In California, they just scoot up the tree and strap themselves in position.
Laura says
Grazie Linda! Well, that does seem faster. 🙂 I suspect that they might be doing a serious prune to try to save the tree from these horrible bugs that have invaded the area and attack certain types of palm trees. If that’s what they’re up to, I hope it’s successful. It’s really a gorgeous tree!

Hmmm, is this the day we bumped into each other there?
Laura says
Ciao Charlie! 🙂 Yes, I did take all these photos the day we saw one another. That was such a nice surprise! I was going to mention it, but I wasn’t sure if it was O.K. to link to your blog or not. Let’s meet up one of these winter days!

Hello Laura, thank you for sharing your beautiful photos, certainly a great way to cheer us up on a cold, wet and foggy UK morning 🙁 It is so horrible here, not been out much at all. I don’t mind the cold but when it is wet too 🙁
Laura says
Ciao Anne! I needed to look at them to cheer myself up today, too. 🙂 I knew when I posted them that we were having a week of rain and grey skies ahead. Hope the weather improves for you soon!

Stunning photos! Here in Florida we don’t get the change in scenery and it is wonderful to travel vicariously through you. I love the beauty of the Amalfi coast, I need to somehow find a way to return. Grazie

Ciao Lael! Thanks for your lovely comment. I spent many years as a kid growing up on the east coast of Florida, and I remember missing the change of seasons so much. Glad to spread a bit of autumn cheer all the way to the sunshine state! 🙂

I so enjoyed the Autumn stroll around the Villa Cimbrone one of my favourite places in Ravello, the colurs, the cyclamen and the chestnuts. Thanks Laura
Laura says
Ciao Linda! So happy you enjoyed the autumn photos. The Villa Cimbrone is one of my favorite spots in Ravello, too. I love the contrast this time of year between the delicate cyclamen and the prickly chestnuts. For some reason the little flowers feel like spring flowers to me, like the crocuses that pop up in early spring. And it just seems so strange to see cyclamen and chestnuts at the same time. 🙂
